About
About Jeffrey Cohen
Jeffery Cohen has dedicated his life to bodywork research and practice. Trusted by professionals in the most physically demanding fields, he has successfully treated a wide array of clients, including Mikhail Baryshnikov, the members of Pearl Jam, Danny Glover, principal and corps members of the Mark Morris Dance Group and the San Francisco Ballet, and Olympic athletes. Cohen practices primarily in the Bay Area, where he has also made significant inroads for clients suffering from such complaints as repetitive stress disorder.
Cohen’s treatment philosophy combines today’s medical insight
with his in-depth understanding of the ancient Philippine practice
of Hilot. Research grants have helped him to study the current and
potential impact of Hilot, particularly on stroke and spinal cord
injuries, where the therapy shows great promise. Cohen is cofounder
of the Hilot Foundation, a nonprofit organization that works to help
preserve indigenous healing arts while integrating them into modern
medical practices. He currently tours nationally and internationally
with The MARK MORRIS Dance GROUP and the San Francisco Ballet.
Jeff Cohen is the best therapist I've ever encountered. He is intuitive, insightful and innovative in his approach. He has been immeasurably helpful in keeping me and my company dancing our best. Mark Morris
The praise for the head rest designed by Mr. Jeff Cohen
As a student of the Diamond Light Massage School and as a medical
doctor with 30 years of practice and research, I have a privilege to
perceive the equipment used in massage practice with the "fresh, yet
experienced eyes".
In my massage classes I tried several kinds of head rest (while
receiving and giving massage) and the one designed by Mr. Jeff Cohen
positively differentiates from other head rests in the following
points:
-with its wide opening it actually supports the head to in contrast
to an uncomfortable support of the face
-the flexibility created by the springs under the cushion
accommodates different weights of the head and allows the client to
change the head position without interrupting massage for a
manual adjustment of the head rest by the practitioner
-thick and soft cushion is very comfortable.
-it fits into a standard cover.
-offering several rods of different diameters and adjustable
position of the connecting rods towards openings in the table, this
head rest easily fits into tables of different manufacturers
In summary, I would like to applaud a successful attempt by an
experienced body work practitioner to use creativity, knowledge and
sensitivity in making the experience of massage more comfortable for
the clients. As a physician I rate highly both the invention and the
intentions behind it.

The Head
Kradle head piece is the most comfort able and well built head piece
I've found. We do 750 massage sessions a week at our clinic and it
dosen't take long to find out if a headpiece will last. Thanks
for building a quality product.
